I'm excited to be a part of the changes going on at CCAD. The student voice in what is going on at CCAD should be heard, and I thank Dwayne for inviting me to be one of those voices.
I am also looking forward to being involved in this committee. As a relative newcomer to CCAD, I hope I can add a slightly different perspective. I have a strong personal commitment to inclusion and diversity and am glad to be a part of this discussion.
One of the most valuable take-aways from yesterday's meeting was Chelsea's comment that we really just need to learn how to talk about diversity. That is really cutting to the basics. So often we are afraid to mention or ask when it comes to what might be perceived as a sensitive subject. Thanks-Chelsea for your valuable participation.
I'm very excited to be a part of the Task Force. Diversity can be a scary topic to some and I think this committee sets a good example for the rest of the campus.
